Singing and Flying

Hello from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

Wow- have we ever been busy the last little while. When we wrote last we were in Fredericton, New Brunswick. After our long drive home we spent the week finishing up our new album, then we re-packed our suitcases…and this is where things start to get busy…

We started by flying to Calgary, Alberta, where we performed in their International Children's Festival.
And what a festival it was! We met performers from all over the world, took in some amazing shows and performed for 5 days. It was so great to see so many familiar faces, and people singing along to our songs- can’t wait to see you all at the Stampede this summer!

From Calgary, we hopped on a plane to Toronto, Ontario. Then took a really really small plane to Kingston, Ontario. By small we mean 20 people on-board and that's including the pilot!

In Kingston we had a very exciting experience. A few months ago we got a call from Andy Rush (yup...that's him in the middle..)
Andy is an extremely talented choral composer and director from Kingston who directs the “Open Voices” Community Choir. Andy asked if he could write choral music to some of our songs and if we would be Guest artists in their Springtime Concert. We quickly agreed we would make the flight home. We arrived and were able to practice once with the band…then the next day we found ourselves on stage in front of 700 people performing "Good Day" and our brand new song "Nature Song" with a 100 person choir (who we had never met or practiced with!!) What an incredible experience. The choir was absolutely amazing. Not only were their harmonies and voices beautiful but they danced to the Pirate Song like I have never seen before!! (stayed tuned for some classic video footage)

After the two choir concerts we woke up at 4am and hopped back on our tiny plane to Toronto, then a bigger plane to Edmonton, Alberta, where we have been performing in the St. Albert Children’s Festival.

We were so excited to be a part of this festival again this year. As well as doing daily shows, we were a part of the Festival Finale Performance, along with performers from around the world. One of our favorite parts of these festivals is getting to meet people, and see their shows. We met people from Africa, Russia, Germany, Japan and of course Canada.

This morning we flew to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and will be starting shows here tomorrow morning. Our schedule can be seen here

In other news, our first full length DVD is now completely finished! It has been sent to the manufacturers and will be ready, for you to watch on your TV, by June 15th. Stay tuned……..

also we have new T-shirts! They are always available after a show.

Hope you are all enjoying the end of the school year...loving the summer breeze in the air!

Talk to you soon,

Taes and Nick
