OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE

Children’s Group of the Year Splash'N Boots
Want Fans' Help Writing New Album
New stars of Treehouse TV taking Facebook suggestions for sixth album
TORONTO, February 3rd, 2012 – Hot off the heels of a cross-Canada theatre tour with Treehouse LIVE, Children’s Music Group of the Year Splash'N Boots want their Facebook following to help them write their sixth album! With their breakthrough music video For the Love of Dance airing nationally on Treehouse TV, the cutting-edge duo's new 10-track compilation will be based solely on fan suggestions.
Everyday for approximately one month, Splash'N Boots will update their Facebook status seeking new recommendations for song titles, lyrics, and even the album's name, allowing everyone to provide input on what they'd like to hear on the twosome's upcoming CD. Fans will even be able to submit artwork which will make up the CD's booklet. Fans can 'like' Splash'N Boots on Facebook at www.facebook.com/splashnboots.com.
Once they've received enough fan feedback, Splash'N Boots will write and professionally record all 10 tracks live from their kitchen – where they have been filming their ever-popular “Kitchen Jam” webcasts for the past two years. In addition, the entire process will be filmed and edited into a documentary, making this highly anticipated album the ultimate band/fan collaboration. With a portion of all proceeds going to Sick Kids Hospital, the album is expected to be released this spring.
“We truly have the best fans anyone could hope for, so we're thrilled to invite them in the song-writing process,” says Taes (pronounced 'Tess') Leavitt, the group's 'Boots'. "Because of the fan involvement, this is going to be our best album to-date!”
“We've always been so well connected with our fans through social media,” says Nick, the group's 'Splash'. “Having our fans help out with the new album seems like the natural progression for us!”
With five CDs and two full-length DVDs under their belts, as well as over 1,000 international festival and theatre performances, there is no sign of slowing down for this young husband and wife team. In addition to their music video currently on heavy rotation on Treehouse TV, the duo performed in 11 cities this fall with Treehouse LIVE for the Roll Play Live Animal Party tour – based on Treehouse TV's award-winning show Roll Play. Subsequently, the breakout pair landed an additional four music videos as well as four half hour episodes of Roll Play that will air on the popular children’s network in 2012 for the next six years.
Stemming from a 2004 Queen's University class project, Splash'N Boots are constantly connected to their fans via social media channels. With a growing following on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, the two have a lot in store for 2012, including several more Kitchen Jam appearances at Sick Kids Hospital; an organization they continually support, recently donating $1000 after selling their first thousand copies of their “Back in Yellow” CD.

The New Album - STEP ONE... Song Titles ?

We were very excited to announce to our fans that we were starting to write our 6th Album; we were even more excited to announce we were going to have them help us every step of the way. Day ONE started with a bang and the response was great....we were blown away. We decided to begin with the Song Titles. We asked people to submit Song Title ideas which would then makeup the album Track List. The ideas and suggestions came pouring in. When writing a new song we've never really started with a title before so this would be a new experience in itself. With over 100 title entries we narrowed it down to 5 with the remaining 5 titles to be voted on by our fans. We only gave them 24hrs to vote and again the response was exciting to watch unfold. There were some close races and in the end we had a 3-way tie for the last spot. Not wanting to miss out on a great opportunity we quickly decided to included all 3, making the album 13 strong. So here it is..in no particular order. The new "unwritten" songs!
