Windsor , St.Marys -Canada....next stop Australia

H.E.L.L.O

A sunny weekend filled with music and meeting so many families - it was great. Our first stop was Windsor Ontario's Summerfest. Down by the waterfront where our shows were- Detroit, Michigan seemed very close. Taes didn't think it looked that big:

Nick didn't think it looked that far...swimming distance perhaps?

We performed 4 shows over Friday and Saturday. It was so great seeing so many familiar faces that saw us perform last February in Windsor. Thanks to everyone for coming out to sing and dance with us.

Hanging out with Kelly and Ashlyn our one of our shows at Summerfest.

It was then off to St.Marys to the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame where we were met by an large energetic crowd. Since St.Marys is very close to where Nick grew up so many of his family and friends were about to make it out- here's his niece and nephew proudly displaying their Splash'N Boots hats before the show ( I think they may have little choice about their favorite group :) )

Now we have but one day to pack for Australia... and 50 days on the road. hmmm..

Here's where we are headed (click to make it bigger):

We fly into Sydney. Then we head to Melbourne the next day... then keep travelling south to the coast and you will see a city called Warrnambool. That's where we will be performing at the FUN4KIDS Festival . OZ awaits.... we'll keep you posted on the Splash'N Boots adventures. Harry the Parrot is slightly nervous about the 19hr flight- but we told him he may get to meet a Kangaroo so that calmed him down a bit :)

Hope everyone is doing well and singing lots. See you soon! Maybe down Under?

Love,

Nick and Taes- and Harry the Parrot

Plentiful Festivals

H.E.L.L.O

We had a wonderful weekend performing at the Mississaugua Waterfront Festival on Saturday. This was the 4th year in a row we have performed there, so it was great seeing some many familiar faces in the crowd. One face we always enjoy to see, is that of our great friend Trulee Odd... he enjoys juggling Knives blindfolded while on a 10 foot unicycle - his mother is extremely proud.

We also met a great banjo player .....

The wonderful people from Jungle Cat World gave Taes an up close and personal look at a funny little guy. Does anyone know what this animal is called?

The next day we were in our hometown of Burlington to perform at the Sound of Music Festival. It was a lot if fun. If you ever get a chance to come visit this Festival is is worth the trip... its freeeeee and just full of great music. Thanks to everyone for taking the time to come up after our shows and say hello.

We are now getting ready to perform 4 shows at Summerfest in Windsor, Ontario on Friday and Saturday then we are travelling to the St. Marys on Sunday to perform at the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame. I'm hoping maybe I'll be inducted into the Hall of Fame this weekend for my home run I hit when was I was 7 years old... we'll seeee

Also if anyone out there are into the wonderful world that is Facebook- well we have the group for you.. its a an all you can eat Splash'N Boots Buffet.. pictures, stories, interactive fun. We would love to you see you there.

Time to say goodbye!

It's not a Perth, it's a Europeon Handbag

Awww beautiful Perth, home of many pretty parks, Big Ben(the horse) and the wonderful Studio Theatre, where we performed to a energetic sold out crowd.

The day before the show we did a surprise visit to a grade 1 music class in Taes's old public school. When we walked in, they were practising their drumming skills while listening to our first Album "Getting Our Feet Wet"... that was a big surprise to us. We joined in and performed 3 songs with them. Lots of fun!

Our show the next day was fantastic. Perth is such an amazing community. Since Taes has a lot of family in Perth they were happy to help out and we were so grateful to have them there with us.

Once the show got underway- it was a rockin time. Thanks to everyone for coming out and singing and dancing with us.

Now back in Burlington working away and enjoying the sunny outdoors. Looking forward to performing once again at the Mississauga Waterfront Festival on Saturday then 2 shows at the Burlington's Sound of Music Festival on Sunday.... two great festivals in Ontario..and both so very close to our house...!

With summer season creeping up so is the Festival season. Make sure you find out if there are any music festivals that may be coming up in your area. It's a great way to spend an afternoon with family and friends...and also see and support lots of great performers.

Talk to you sooooooon!

love Nick and Taes.... and Harry the Parrot

This is our friend Katie from St. Albert. Thanks for sending us the letter and picture Katie! Can't wait to see you next time we are out your way.

A Harry Cover

H~E~L~L~O~

Well after 4 flights, 1 ferry ride and 20 shows we made it home from the first leg of our tour. We were so impressed with The International Children's Festival in St. Albert, Alberta. We met some wonderful people and were treated so well... and there were plenty of great dancers! The only slight struggle we had was with the weather. Being on the outdoor stage, we were exposed direcly to the sun....and boy oh boy did it get hot. The average tempature over the 5 days was about 29 degress and at last count we saw only 2.5 clouds...but we loved the challenge annnnd the mild sun stroke. Harry the Parrot was also feeling the heat but recovered nicely when he found out he had made his first newspaper cover.

He felt like the Rockin Roll King.
One of the highlights of the week came on the last night of the festival during the Finale. We were asked to join some of the incredible international groups in one final show where they displayed a taste of what they have been up to all week. It was fantasic. Here's us with Rick Scott after the final show.....

After a little howling we then jumped on a plane made it back to our little airport in Hamilton Ontario.

We are now getting ready to head to Perth Ontario (Taes' hometown) for a show on Saturday at the Studio Theatre. I'm sure we will see a lot of familair faces.
Hope everyone is enjoying the outdoors and finding time for a little music and dancing! Talk to you very soon. Same place? Same Time? Keep Rockin

Love Taes and Nick
